Scottish Government/Transport Scotland — Building Scotland’s Low Emission Zones consultation

Deadline 28 November 2017

The Scottish Government’s Programme for Government revealed that LEZs will be established in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee by 2020.

The Scottish Government is now consulting on Low Emission Zones. The consultation paper sets out the proposed arrangements and options to deliver a consistent approach to designing, building and managing Low Emission Zones (LEZs) in Scotland. It is your opportunity to shape the guiding principles the Scottish Government will adopt to put in place the first LEZ by 2018.

Friends of the Earth Scotland have also launched their own consultation response tool. We would encourage people to make sure that their response focuses on tackling private vehicles and ensuring that buses are part of the solution to LEZs and not viewed as the problem.

The consultation runs until 28 November.
