Scottish Government – Improving Parking in Scotland consultationDeadline 30 June 2017
The Scottish Government has launched a consultation on responsible parking.
It invites views on how to provide greater clarity of the laws on parking, what restrictions that should be applied, the exceptions that should be granted, how the Government should tackle displacement of vehicles and support town centre regeneration whilst improving accessibility for all.
This is a great opportunity to push the Scottish Government to tackle key issues such as pavement parking, which present a major barrier to safe, inclusive walking in Scotland, particularly for more vulnerable street users.
To read and respond to the consultation, see here.
Living Streets Scotland have also put together a response outlining the key issues which need to be addressed to end pavement parking. People are free to use this template and personalise it. See here to use the template.
The consultation is open until 30 June.
