Poppy Marples joins Transform team in tourism rolePublished 13 February 2019 by Transform Scotland
We’re happy to announce that Poppy Marples has joined the Transform team as ‘Transport & Tourism Researcher’, on a five-month placement from Edinburgh Napier University.
Transport & Tourism Researcher: Poppy Marples
Poppy joined Transform Scotland in January 2019 on a five-month placement from Napier University where she is studying International Tourism Management BA (Hons). She began studying Tourism in 2016 and found the Planning and Sustainable Development in Tourism Module the most fascinating and choose to complete her placement in this field. While working with Transform, Poppy is researching the transport and tourism industries and looking at the impacts they have on the environment and the economy. This will include looking at topics such as car-free tourism and researching factors that influence travel decisions in Scotland. This fits nicely with her passion and interest in travel and tourism which started in 2014 when she left school and went abroad for two years to travel and work. Poppy is planning to do a Masters in Eco-Tourism and will look to use her experiences at Transform Scotland and apply them to her future studies. LinkedIn profile
