Driverless cars & passenger-less buses?: Parliamentary briefing paper

Published 15 March 2018 by Transform Scotland

Transform Scotland have release a parliamentary briefing ahead of this lunchtime’s Scottish Parliament debate on driverless cars. The parliamentary debate is being led by Ivan McKee MSP.

Colin Howden, director of Transform Scotland, said:

“We agree with Ivan McKee that driverless cars should be a matter of interest to the Scottish Government.

“There are however more immediate issues of concern. Given the rapid decline in bus patronage, and the failure of central and local government to take action to tackle the factors that are leading to this, we would contend that the prospect of passenger-less buses should remain a more immediate concern to the Scottish Ministers than driverless cars.”
