Concerns raised over plans for airport expansionPublished 21 December 2016 by Jamie Wylie and John Webster
Transform Scotland today submitted a response to Edinburgh Airport’s Masterplan consultation.
Our response sets out a number of objections with the Airport’s plans for expansion over the coming years, including the need to make better use of public transport links to the airport; concerns over the proposals to pursue new road building around the airport; and the urgent need to limit the growth of aviation in Scotland to minimise carbon emissions.
Our consultation response can be found in full here.
The consultation is open until 23 December. We would strongly encourage people to voice their concerns over the Airport’s plans for expansion. An increase in air traffic on the scale predicted by Edinburgh Airport will have serious consequences for carbon emissions, congestion and noise pollution.
