Pavement parking ban will need to be enforced

Published 27 October 2015 by Colin Howden

We have submitted our response to the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Regeneration Committee in response to their call for evidence on the Footpath Parking and Double Parking (Scotland) Bill.

In our evidence paper, we assert that the “most important aspect of the proposed prohibitions will be to ensure proper Enforcement by the police and local authorities” with a need for enforcement “to be as simple as possible, along the lines of a parking ticket backed up with photographic proof and not involve convoluted procedures”.

The LGR Committee’s call for evidence remains open until Friday 6 November 2015.
